I finally made my way back to the 1922 Ludwig grand that contained the Staib- Abendschien action, this time with camera in hand. The instrument is in generally poor condition but tunable and playable. I guess the photos will show the simple concept of this action. It is not nearly as complex as the previously shown vertical “Mastertouch” action by the same maker.
